I leave for work around 6AM and return around 8PM, don't really have a home life for those days just shower and get to bed as soon as I can. Try and see the kids and catch up on the goings on around the home front.<br /> Had three weekends off in July due to my elbow repairs, and that has had me rethinking my current schedule, got to do things that I can't do during the week. Went to Church three weeks in a row with my Family, and my wife didn't feel like a single parent, attended a camp out with my two oldest and the Youth group. All kinds of cool stuff a Father enjoys. Been trying to shake the sadness I have been feeling to no avail.<br /> Decided to visit with my Wife's cousin Larry Ethier who lives about three hours from us for a much needed pep talk. SUCCESS! Need to visit him and Diane more often. Got a great shoulder to vent on and some wonderful words of wisdom. Thank you Lord. I know for a fact that he is definitely in my life for this reason. <br />Always wonder if Larry and I were the same age, how much trouble we would have gotten into.(LOL) As I sit here writing I wonder, " should we move closer"?Mikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08344515786051326446noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8887267216627487588.post-73204987183109505292010-07-20T13:37:00.002-04:002010-07-20T13:41:04.362-04:00I Don't Get It?<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicMexiLk5f_MG7RI64bqj18XL0Rl5bBpN7RjJBvHl8zraeErPzS9qJgQhnWlAVYDjgtCWdwZbPMwcZ185MD-D4eUs4cag-cZMaKtpSi1wtgTtuBUzbDtTcb6LvekNPo3CIcekNpqbz5hZn/s1600/046.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicMexiLk5f_MG7RI64bqj18XL0Rl5bBpN7RjJBvHl8zraeErPzS9qJgQhnWlAVYDjgtCWdwZbPMwcZ185MD-D4eUs4cag-cZMaKtpSi1wtgTtuBUzbDtTcb6LvekNPo3CIcekNpqbz5hZn/s320/046.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5496044807966889602" /></a><br />My wife wanted me to stand next to this sign along the Blue Ridge Parkway so she could get a picture. Gannon McHale, an actor now working at the Barter theater in Southeast VA. He is also a former shipmate from the Sturgeon. Although he served over 15 years before I got there, and an author to boot.<br /> It is always wonderful to meet new people and make friends, it is even cool when you can butt heads over something as trivial as Politics and still remain friends.<br /> He even got to Jam with my son and friend Adam.<br />It was especially nice to have company as I seem to be trapped at home with my my left arm all wrapped up and not wanting an infection to hamper my return to work.Mikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08344515786051326446noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8887267216627487588.post-85092171447750893282010-07-10T10:11:00.002-04:002010-07-10T10:16:41.565-04:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjigTioAq0ebtwV_5TDiPBVtxQYckuc2HyLbYRwIk2420cFfAqollnginXWYK6WBefoZbVEfy4Sj5ATzLxcXr-wW6Pa7aYRgsC4waAiScpD_mzno1xIoLOiz87j9RMdYyHakbHUAm3zynhn/s1600/006.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjigTioAq0ebtwV_5TDiPBVtxQYckuc2HyLbYRwIk2420cFfAqollnginXWYK6WBefoZbVEfy4Sj5ATzLxcXr-wW6Pa7aYRgsC4waAiScpD_mzno1xIoLOiz87j9RMdYyHakbHUAm3zynhn/s320/006.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5492280296586917906" /></a><br />Looks like 16 staples and most of my spur is gone. I can say this because I haven't seen a Copperhead in the yard yet!</div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div>Mikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08344515786051326446noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8887267216627487588.post-91673011275111867882009-04-28T21:27:00.002-04:002009-04-28T21:54:04.920-04:00Garden?<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicYL5uwwfyIhl1sOV-bw2tdE7BJHW537kG_M4a7ETJUiIagM3IzdbMm4Q5BsACbZgTaYzr9oGTfsJNJVjkj2BsNWUTG8Hcqme0V3Yo4qPVSdvRx49hQ5UGWxanxACTZiZSLofmnFzTXWAw/s1600-h/cow+plops+019.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5329922073316767922" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicYL5uwwfyIhl1sOV-bw2tdE7BJHW537kG_M4a7ETJUiIagM3IzdbMm4Q5BsACbZgTaYzr9oGTfsJNJVjkj2BsNWUTG8Hcqme0V3Yo4qPVSdvRx49hQ5UGWxanxACTZiZSLofmnFzTXWAw/s320/cow+plops+019.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg515h-FZRfnAiHGU1tqf3tjHO4BGLLVCO7uW6pRGVipm7a5y17vs_n54shWXcnmMvJJglul7IXeYltjxNms_xi0LViHeLEpd-ubnTNIbAMSgYJV9CH6Q5UdqT3oHOhpWQwfcZ7DSDFz6op/s1600-h/cow+plops+007.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5329922065663766530" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg515h-FZRfnAiHGU1tqf3tjHO4BGLLVCO7uW6pRGVipm7a5y17vs_n54shWXcnmMvJJglul7IXeYltjxNms_xi0LViHeLEpd-ubnTNIbAMSgYJV9CH6Q5UdqT3oHOhpWQwfcZ7DSDFz6op/s320/cow+plops+007.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBCbGquEL2W4F2C6PHGDaorkk7bGj8Je8kIjAlft-qul8VJNsn7rvZ-QxoBsxXXvfb1qm9f-7h8DOFZMi6GOtd_Bxol7GKZGCuMcn28wznT3G9tEBmDbINbc7v1hIZmvbNyFN6xIfC2HeI/s1600-h/cow+plops+006.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5329922060513744290" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBCbGquEL2W4F2C6PHGDaorkk7bGj8Je8kIjAlft-qul8VJNsn7rvZ-QxoBsxXXvfb1qm9f-7h8DOFZMi6GOtd_Bxol7GKZGCuMcn28wznT3G9tEBmDbINbc7v1hIZmvbNyFN6xIfC2HeI/s320/cow+plops+006.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioZs3HIL2vEFvjDeKU22tMPy0lOKH3JIRCGoA22vuzY1H-0_7VWrJRnkthyphenhyphen7VIRi09z4U-MsiQWNNoWQ-bFJMBEKolC5uDL9VY3DFraNpBbIPrbJQ-zEY7nYgWf5B0skmKQgGrvjxXvn7f/s1600-h/cow+plops+005.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5329922048783575122" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioZs3HIL2vEFvjDeKU22tMPy0lOKH3JIRCGoA22vuzY1H-0_7VWrJRnkthyphenhyphen7VIRi09z4U-MsiQWNNoWQ-bFJMBEKolC5uDL9VY3DFraNpBbIPrbJQ-zEY7nYgWf5B0skmKQgGrvjxXvn7f/s320/cow+plops+005.JPG" border="0" /></a> Not being ready for a vegetable garden just yet we decided to wait till next year. My wonderful Eight Point Deer Mount was going to cost too much to move, so we decided to leave it with someone who would watch over it. My friend Larry stepped up to the plate, and volunteered his home that sits on a little bit over an acre, but is surrounded by about 15000 acres of State Forest. Yes I am very envious of his living situation, which is another reason we moved so I could have some acreage and room to explore.</div><br /><br /><div>I don't think I will ever get it back because Larry has become somewhat attached to it! These pictures might be a little disturbing so some Parental Guidance might be called for. </div></div>Mikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08344515786051326446noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8887267216627487588.post-38763278706847083082009-02-19T18:18:00.004-05:002009-02-19T18:44:02.103-05:00Mr. Mom<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxJ-4-jTJX8CdwFMHUkiM_Rin1FXEz_dY-nKhwPMi4nwSteD3EMbc3fu8bgWznRs0rPBqnl-15a-JYbZ3F0xhtKFADzYuCsJu6yF0Q6w0Li914sFsIJbQrlxXRib187-EfPe7oiyeC2qxd/s1600-h/010.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5304658095991953426" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxJ-4-jTJX8CdwFMHUkiM_Rin1FXEz_dY-nKhwPMi4nwSteD3EMbc3fu8bgWznRs0rPBqnl-15a-JYbZ3F0xhtKFADzYuCsJu6yF0Q6w0Li914sFsIJbQrlxXRib187-EfPe7oiyeC2qxd/s320/010.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>I have been with my children "alone" since Sunday when my wife went to Florida with her Brother Joe and Sister'n Law Sue to visit Mem and Pep.</div><br /><div>It is going pretty well, everyone is still alive and hardly any injuries to report. I did have to go to the Doctor to get my blood pressure checked after what seemed like little birdies flying around my head. I made out Okay, still kickin. The kids have been living off of Hot pockets,Doritos, ice cream sandwiches, macaroni and cheese. All good American processed foods! </div><br /><div>I did have a scare this afternoon after dropping Jake off at work, Haley talked me into stopping at Tuckers General store for a treat. I told her if Faith stays awake we will stop. Well Haley, like me will work very hard at something if she wants it bad enough. so we got to the store with Faithy Girl barely awake, I took her out of her car seat and she seemed a little groggy. Well I pointed her toward the store entrance and as soon as she opened the door and crossed the threshold she vomited right into the store!!! I love It!!!! At first I was thinking about what I fed her but then realized it was just motion sickness.</div><br /><div>Have gotten some painting done which is nice to get off my hunny do list, but that is slow process especially with the help of a four year old.</div>Mikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08344515786051326446noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8887267216627487588.post-70663326998619797942009-02-10T17:30:00.002-05:002009-02-10T17:41:08.328-05:00Nice Weather<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwZhIJqHJ3gtzAOmXSidcKI0DUxy6yemmz4Yu93TIrXxp46Q6O88lnR2Fj9YZjMjgDGJIZc50Fhla81AgU9CWw3x_rTcsCPY8RXFQckTqtYm58i_KoGDJqTQM4csyH6L-wCnl-5QYxYtxf/s1600-h/002.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5301302272350234450" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwZhIJqHJ3gtzAOmXSidcKI0DUxy6yemmz4Yu93TIrXxp46Q6O88lnR2Fj9YZjMjgDGJIZc50Fhla81AgU9CWw3x_rTcsCPY8RXFQckTqtYm58i_KoGDJqTQM4csyH6L-wCnl-5QYxYtxf/s320/002.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0D5jfQyubGUVswILTlPRdJgm2Z8hzVZGeuX3MJsHqnXxHS397WLu7JuiOJKaQ_wumPcM6s6SsbS0BvfTgkdg7INuKUb1EJsFnnHjwTzQwRJonyMdNa8gnjn6wZx2XVu0WE53c9ZsIu-QX/s1600-h/008.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5301302271601298610" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0D5jfQyubGUVswILTlPRdJgm2Z8hzVZGeuX3MJsHqnXxHS397WLu7JuiOJKaQ_wumPcM6s6SsbS0BvfTgkdg7INuKUb1EJsFnnHjwTzQwRJonyMdNa8gnjn6wZx2XVu0WE53c9ZsIu-QX/s320/008.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div>Got home from work early today, only eight hours, a short day. By nice ride I meant that no one threw up and that is always good! Passed by the Appalachain trail and stopped for a little lunch and Fun. Actually hiked on it a peice (about 200 feet, only 2099 miles and 5080 feet to go) Man I am beat! LOL </div><div> We have been pronouncing Appalachian wrong all these years it is actually pronounced "Appalatchian" That means for all you College educated people out there it is the word "apple" followed by "latch" and then you throw in a "ian at the end.</div><br /><br /><br /><div>It was neat to see the other side of the Mountains, as we are on the eastern side of Mount Pleasant and we ventured over to the western side. Thought we would take a ride down the Blue Ridge Parkway but we found out it is closed during the winter! Still was a Great Day!</div><br /><br /><br /><div>Had a couple of deer in the front yard this evening that we watched for half hour, Man Do I Love Living Here!!!!</div><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div>Mikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08344515786051326446noreply@blogger.com0
